Becoming A Christian

To become a Christian, one place their faith in Jesus Christ. Here are the ABC’s of becoming a Christ follower:

A– Acknowledge your need for a Savior. The Scripture is clear that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and the wages of sin is death (Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23). The first step in salvation is to humble yourself before God, admit you have sinned, and acknowledge that you are in need of a Savior.

B-Believe that Christ died for your sin. The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus. Jesus came to die in our place, taking the punishment on his back that we deserve, and three days later rose from the dead to give us new life.

C-Confess that Jesus is Lord. We must believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead and confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord (Romans 10:9). Prayer a prayer to God now. Ask Him to forgive you of your sin and invite Him into your life as your Lord and Savior. Once you do so, rejoice that you are now God’s child having received eternal life through your faith in Christ! [ Top ]

Baptism

We believe that once someone becomes a Christian they must, as soon as possible, follow the Lord’s direction and example in water baptism (Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:15). Water baptism is an outward expression of our inward faith and is our opportunity to publicly acknowledge that we are now Christ followers. We believe in baptism by immersion (being fully submersed in water).

Baby Dedication

We believe in the Biblical command to raise our children in the things of God. Baby dedication signifies a parents’ commitment to do just that. It is not an act of salvation for the child, for they will have to make that decision on their own some day. But rather, baby dedication symbolizes a parents commitment to follow the Lord wholeheartedly and to raise their children in the fear of the Lord. Click here to sign up for our next baby dedication.
